GROZNY: Chechen President Ramzan Akhmadovich Kadyrov received the Saudi minister of Islamic affairs, call and guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al-Asheikh, at the presidential palace in Grozny.
The minister is heading the Kingdom’s delegation at the opening of the Fakhr Al-Muslimeen Mosque, the largest in Europe.
At the beginning of the reception, Kadyrov welcomed Al-Asheikh and his accompanying delegation and wished them a pleasant stay in Chechnya.
Al-Asheikh conveyed the greetings of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the Chechen people.
He praised the design and construction of the mosque, hoping that it will be a beacon of guidance to spread the moderate teachings of Islam.
At Kadyrov’s request, the secretary-general of the Muslim World League, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, delivered the mosque’s first Friday sermon.
The marble-decorated mosque has a capacity of more than 30,000 people.
